We’ve added new hover and press interactions, alongside the classic tap/click. Use these to trigger overlays, or even hide or show specific layers (that’s also new with this update). There’s also a new toggle option to show and hide a layer or overlay with each click or tap.
We’ve made it easier to hide hints and hotspots when sharing prototypes. There’s also a new sharing option that removes toolbars and navigation for a more focused, client-friendly experience.
We’ve rolled out a brand new prototype player that works across the Mac, web and iOS apps. With our new prototype player, playing your prototypes should feel smoother, faster, and more reliable. We also now support advanced display effects like background blurs on scrolling Artboards.
What’s happened in 2023? Well, quite a lot! From closing the feedback loop and making on-Canvas comments available across Sketch, to taking a major leap forward with Smart Layout — there’s a lot to cover! So let’s recap on a pretty big year.
You can now view, create and respond to comments on your iPhone and iPad. This update also brings a full Canvas view to the iPhone, Artboard view to the iPad, as well as Mirroring support for the iPad.
Introducing a new level of organization for your Workspace. With Collections, you can group documents inside of Projects. Just like Projects, Collections are workflow-agnostic — so you can organize documents using whatever groupings suit you and your collaborators best. Collections are available right now in the latest version of the Mac, iOS and web apps.
Sketch View & Mirror (our iOS companion app) now supports viewing local documents (from Files or third-party apps), offline mode and Apple’s Handoff feature. Better still, it’s now available for iPad, where you can browse your designs in a beautiful full Canvas view and see all the details — whether they’re on an Artboard or not.
This year we’ve been busy working on new features to give designers and the people around them better and faster ways to create their best work. But unless you’re using Sketch every day, you might’ve missed some of our big releases. So here’s a quick recap of some of the coolest improvements we’ve added to Sketch in the last 12 months.
With all the big feature releases in recent months, it’s sometimes easy to miss some of the smaller (but still sweet) improvements we’ve made to Sketch along the way. So grab a coffee and take a seat as we run you through 38(!) of these little gems in less than four minutes.
Being able to see your designs in context is invaluable. That’s why we’ve rebuilt our iPhone app from the ground up, giving you a better viewing and mirroring experience for documents in your Workspace — wherever you are. The new Sketch iPhone app is available to download from the App Store for free right now.
